“Mrs. Sonia”, portrait

This is portrait of Mrs. Sonia, artist from Denmark. I had a chance to meet her this winter.

She is brave lady with an amazing life story and that is what I try to catch in this portrait.

The painting is not perfectly rendered, because I wanted to show the human beauty beside the marks that life puts on us.

Viktor

This is portrait of my older son Viktor (9).

He loves Minecraft, pixel art and has a dream to become scientist.

Few years ago, he told me that he would make a machine that can make us invisible.

I hope you will do it one day, son. We all need to be invisible sometimes.

Portrait study

Painting objects is easy. Paint the form of the object, paint shadow, add some light and that’s it. Even if it doesn’t look perfect, it will be fine. With portraits/figures is different. Humans have soul and that is so hard to paint.

For a year now I practice portraits. I don’t paint as much as I want, because I am still scared, but that is where I will go in the future with my art.

So, just to check where I am so far, first time in “100 days of mini art”- portrait study.
